Stephen Korytko is a narrative and commercial director. His background in sound and experience as a Director of Photography shape his meticulous approach to filmmaking, where atmosphere is as vital as composition.

After moving to Berlin, he founded a production company and directed commercials for brands such as IKEA, Amazon, Lidl, and Trade Republic. Over time, his work became increasingly narrative-driven, culminating in The Golden Record (2023), his fiction directorial debut. A bold, dialogue-free meditation on human connection, the film contrasts the intimacy of a 1970s sound recording studio with the vast unknown of space. It premiered at the Black Nights Tallinn Film Festival, marking a significant milestone in his career.

Korytko's work is defined by a strong sense of place, immersive soundscapes, and a sharp (often absurd) exploration of human fragility. His upcoming projects include his debut feature, Dead Dad Girl, a dark comedy about the lengths we go to fit in, and an art installation on the degeneration of memory, created in collaboration with musician Antoine Honorez. Both are slated for release in 2026.
